A SELECTION OF THE VAST NUMBER OF TELESCOPES ON THE MARKET
It is possible to take pictures through virtually any telescope with a digital camera, there are however some important things you should bear in mind before choosing one. Most birders already own a scope, if you don't and are thinking of getting one, think first about whether you will want be able to use it for digiscoping before you buy.
The size and quality of the eyepiece is one of the most important factors for digiscoping, it is essential that you try to get one that has a large eyepiece lens, this will help reduce vignetting and transmit more light back into the camera. Most telescope manufacturers now produce long eye relief or wide angle eyepieces and these are the ones to look out for. However advances in technology have meant that some zoom eyepieces are so good that they can produce excellent results even when used on their maximum magnification.
A larger objective lens will help when using a still digital camera, the extra light gathering will increase your shutter speed allowing for pictures to be taken in lower light or faster shutter speeds to be achieved. It is possible to use both angled and straight scopes for digiscoping, most users tend to prefer to use an angled, the combination of the angle of the eyepiece and gravity make it easier to hold a camera to the eyepiece.

NEW HAWKE ENDURANCE
Edurance ED Spotting Scopes feature twist-up eye cups as standard on the zoom eyepiece. You can use the eye-cup at any position between the full up or down position, whatever is more comfortable.Featuring a dual focus knob system. Once focusing is achieved using the large knob you can use the small 'fine tuning' knob to achieve a very sharp image.
The lens sunshade is designed to block unwanted glare and other reflections that can spoil your view and/or image.
Your spotting scope was designed so that you could use optional Wide Angle eyepieces. These eyepieces are available from Hawke and allow varying levels of fixed power, wider fields of view and othe factors. The zoom eyepiece (or any opitional WA eyepiece) will need to be attached when using your spotting scope for digital photography. Make sure the eyepiece locking collar is secure at all stages of setup.
Hawke offers a Universal Digital Camera Adapter which makes it easy to attach a digital camera to your Endurance ED spotting scope.
Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) Glass incorporated in the optical system provides sharp, clear colour reproduction and increased brightness. Ideal for use in low light conditions

MEOPTA DPI 30x DIGISCOPING EYEPIECE
Designed and engineered in the Meopta laboratory this is the worlds first Dual use 30x eyepiece, with cutting edge optical engineering.Together with the SI/SI APO telescope a magnification range of 48x-96x can be achieved, depending on the optical zoom of your compact digital camera.Meopta DPI 30X
High quality digiscoping has never been as easy as it is with the new Meopta DPI 30x eyepiece. The Meopta DPI 30x eyepiece enables you to capture an image while still observing the image through the eyepiece. You do not have to interrupt your observation to take a picture, nor do you need to invest in an expensive device that merges those two functionalities. All you need is your favourite digital camera, fitted to the Meopta DPI 30x eyepiece by means of the cameras tripod thread. Then, simply observe and capture images as you desire.
Meopta DPI 30x eyepiece fits most compact digital cameras with an optical zoom span of up tp 6x. The Meopta DPI 30x does not work with SLR and DSLR cameras.
In many instances, pictures will be bordered by a black frame with rounded corners. This is normal, but can be edited using any photo editing software, if so desired.
For best results, it is important to minimize vibrations in your digiscoping set-up. A solid tripod is a must, while a remote shutter release offers a significant advantage.

VORTEX RAZOR HD SPOTTING SCOPE
The new Razor HD Spotting Scope pushes the performance barrier to the highest limits, delivering a level of optical quality, resolution and colour fidelity previously available only in the most prestigious European brands. If you want to get up close and personal-you want one of theseThe Vortex HD System
Built to our specifications in Japan, the Razor HD features a sophisticated triple apochromatic lens system with two elements, precision ground from high definition (HD) optical glass. The result is an almost total elimination of chromatic aberration across the entire field of view so there''s no ''''fringing'''', degradation of resolution, or dilution of colour fidelity at longer distances.
ArmorTek is a unique, protective coating that hardens and strengthens lenses-actually repelling the oil and corrosive salts of fingerprints. Lenses treated with ArmorTek become:
Harder and stronger
Scratch resistant
Stain-proof
Easier to clean
Dust, dirt and smudges are all easily wiped away without fear of scratching the optical glass beneath
XD (Xtra low Dispersion) glass objective lens elements of extra low dispersion glass enhance image resolution-carefully selected and precision crafted to exacting standards for true to life images of startling clarity and colour accuracy
